EL DORADO HILLS – A section of U.S. Highway 50 is scheduled to be closed for up to two hours in both directions on Sunday, May 2 as part of ongoing construction of El Dorado County's Silva Valley Interchange Project.
The $57 million project in El Dorado Hills is constructing a new overcrossing over Highway 50, new on- and off-ramps with signalized intersections, and new bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
Eastbound and westbound Highway 50 from El Dorado Hills Boulevard to Bass Lake Road is scheduled to be closed from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday to accommodate blasting operations.
In addition, the eastbound highway on-ramp at El Dorado Hills Boulevard/Latrobe Road and the westbound on-ramp and Bass Lake Road will be closed from 4:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured 6.5 miles via El Dorado Hills Boulevard, Serrano Parkway and Bass Lake Road (see detour map). Motorists should plan for an additional 10-15 minutes of travel time or use alternate routes if possible.

This schedule is subject to change. Roadside message boards will be placed around the work zone to keep motorists updated on any changes to the dates and timing of the closures.
