U.S. Highway 50 Wildlife Crossing Project Begins
Shingle Springs - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists that construction of a $1.6 M wildlife under crossing on U.S. Highway 50 in El Dorado County between Greenstone Road and El Dorado Road as work begins Friday evening.
Construction is scheduled for April 20 – May 14, on U.S. Highway 50 in El Dorado County near Shingle Springs from 1.1 miles east of Greenstone Road undercrossing to 0.3 mile west of El Dorado Road. Motorists are advised that various lane restrictions and intermittent traffic controls will take place during the project's duration, and delays can be expected to range from 20 to 50 minutes. The speed limit is subject to change in the work zone and can be lowered by as much as 10 miles per hour.
Motorists can expect the following delays:
Westbound on US 50 from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday through Sunday April 20 – April 22
Westbound on US 50 from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday through Sunday April 27 – April 29
Eastbound on US 50 from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday through Monday May 5 – May 7
Eastbound on US 50 from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday through Monday May 12 - May 14
The prime contractor on this project is Doug Veercamp General Engineering, Inc. of Placerville, California. Roadside message boards will be used to post the latest information. Please be advised this schedule is subject to change without notification due to weather conditions or contractor discretion.
