Caltrans announces installation of enforceable speed limit signs on Hwy 50 and SR 89
Lake Tahoe Basin – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting the traveling public the new speed limit signs are scheduled to be installed. Starting on U.S. Highway 50 from the Agriculture Station to Pioneer Trail near the State line and on State Highway 89 in the Meeks Bay area. The new sign instalation is scheduled for next week April 9, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Unexpected weather may prolong or cause the work to be rescheduled. Caltrans urges motorists to use caution in this area and to "Slow for the Cone Zone".
