Paving Work on U.S. Highway 50 May Delay Traffic
South Lake Tahoe – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is advising motorists to expect up to 10-minute delays on U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe between Fremont Avenue and Trout Creek Bridge beginning on Wednesday, September 14. Crews will begin grinding and paving operations as part of a stormwater and water quality improvement project.

Beginning September 14, motorists can expect lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Night work will continue from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. (Monday – Friday).  Work is scheduled for completion in early to mid-October.  (Traffic controls will be in effect 24 hours a day)

Buses and school traffic for South Tahoe Middle School and Saint Theresa School will be accommodated, with minimal delays. Some city bus stops will be inaccessible. Affected city bus stops will have signage directing city bus riders to the next available stop.
